Perishable foods can be left out at room temperature for two hours then they must be refrigerated. Well in many latino cultues food is left out over night. There are some foods i wouldn t eat afte being left out however crab for example. Hot foods should stay hot above 140 degrees fahrenheit and cold.
While eating spoiled or bad food can make you very sick here s a list of six foods that can actually be kept in the fridge overnight with some exceptions. Definitely don t serve this kind of food to sensitive groups. If you reheat food that was forgotten on the counter overnight or was left out all day will it be safe to eat. If you reheated it thoroughly though it should probably be fine. I find myself eating food left out overnight at least 3 times a week and not once have i gotten anything near an upset stomache. This includes the time they re on the table during your meal. Eating food left out overnight is a food safety no no. Pizza with cheese and pepperoni is fine after being out overnight but just one night whereas pizza with chicken and a creamy garlic sauce would not be good unless refrigerated. Beef enchiladas probably fine. Pork poultry fish are the quickest meats to spoil and should not be eaten after being left out.
Some foods like bread shouldn t even be stored in the fridge in the first place. That includes small children pregnant women sick people and people with weakened immunity. It can cause stomach cramps nausea but mostly diarrhoea. A bacteria called clostridium difficile can grow on rice when it is improperly refridgerated.
It also produces more bacteria fungi breeding. Even if you re in the habit of doing this and haven t gotten sick yet it s better to be safe than to take the risk and become terribly ill or lose your life to foodborne illness.
