Can You Pierce Your Ear With A Sewing Needle
Camila Farah
You can but no i don t recommend it.
But it s still not really a safe thing to do. No you cannot use a sewing needle. I used a needle every time. This method can also be used to pierce your cartilage.
A sewing needle isn t designed to pierce flesh it s meant for piercing fabric which is much less dense than skin and cartilage. Although people have done it and some had no problems doesn t mean you won t. Okkaay ive pierced all my ears and my lip. You can t use a sewing needle to pierce your nose because it might not be the same size as the nose stud and the sewing needle may not be clean enough to use if i were you i would go to a local.
I don t wanna tell my mom that and go out and get only one ear pierced. So starting out you re using something that isn t going to be sharp enough to do the job. Don t use a pin or needle that hasn t been sterilized since it s more likely to cause infections. Once the needle is very much ready it is advised for you to wash hands and then sterilize them to the best of the ability and also the earrings that you will be placing in the ears after the needle has pierced through the skin.

And then there s the issue of sterility. And i can t buy one online for obvious reasons. However i can t go out and buy a piercing kit because i don t have a car. You can do alot of unwanted damage that can lead to a very bad infection or worse with a sewing needle for your sake please don t go that route.
Be sure to sanitize your hands ear needle and earnings. It s such a waste of time and my mom will probably get mad at me. Of course money is always an issue so hopefully this guide can help you. Sewing needles are rounded on the tip whereas a piercing needle is sharp it s tip is angled which makes it easy to push the needle through.
To ensure a safe and proper piercing you need a new autoclaved hollow 16g or 18g piercing needle and sterilized earrings to put in the holes you are going to.
