Can You Use Apple Cider Vinegar Instead Of White Vinegar For Deviled Eggs

One of my favorite recipes to use apple cider vinegar in is deviled eggs.
Mix with paprika for a garnish when complete. I don t think vinegar is a must or even the standard ingredient to make deviled eggs but the sour flavor is needed or otherwise it won t taste like deviled eggs. You can make deviled eggs up to 2 days in advance. Just mayo mustard apple cider vinegar and seasoning to taste.
It offers a sharp sour punch to food ideal for marinades and salad dressings. The flavor of apple cider vinegar is less sharp than that of white vinegar yielding a pickle that is softer on the palate. I ve included the recipe for how i make them at the bottom of this post. Adding a little bit of dill pickle juice or relish juice in place of a tablespoon or so of the vinegar gives them a good flavor too.
Use it lightly too. While none of my recipes for deviled eggs include vinegar i doubt that the amount of vinegar in your recipe is a lot and assume it is contributing a bit of tartness. It can also be used in place of cider when making a kombucha starter culture. A medium saucepan does the trick nicely.

Apple cider vinegar is also great to use as an all purpose cleaner. You really don t need any fancy ingredients to make incredibly delicious deviled eggs. There s no need to over complicate them with any extras. Apple cider vinegar is the vinegar i use most when pickling despite the fact that it does color the pickles somewhat.
Cider vinegar will work but use it sparingly and with some sugar so it is not so sour to the taste. If you are planning on doubling the recipe you might want to consider using a large wide saucepan instead. 1 teaspoon white vinegar white wine vinegar or lemon juice. A common ingredient found in most kitchens white vinegar is a handy replacement for apple cider vinegar.
