Slow cooker pulled pork tenderloin is an easy make ahead freezer meal.
We used pork tenderloin instead of pork shoulder because it was what i had on hand. Really any of the following cuts of meat would work. Use a crockpot throw the tenderloin in. You can also use pork tenderloin like this recipe for a leaner cut of meat.
The pulled pork came out quite well still. Normally i make this with shoulder aka butt but she told me that she went to costco and got a huge pork tenderloin for me to use. Pork butt aka boston butt picnic roast. It was only 5 whereas a 2 pound cut of tenderloin was 10.
Pork tenderloin is a more lean cut of meat so it will be less fatty and a little drier. I only use tenderloin for my pulled pork. Bbq pork tenderloin in the crockpot is such a great freezer meal to take to new moms. You don t need to cover the meat the liquid should come up about halfway.

Cheaper cuts of pork work just the same and have tons of flavor. Most would agree that using a pork tenderloin for pulled pork is not a good idea. Braise the tenderloin slowly with a little liquid and liberal seasonings and it will yield the juicy fall apart texture you re looking for. Season well with pepper and garlic salt then pour in about half a can of root beer.
You can use pork tenderloin for pulled pork. Pork shoulder or pork butt are often used for pulled pork. Normally i would either smoke the roast for 8 hours or roast it in the oven for about 6. Cook on high for 4 5 hours then use a couple forks and shred away.
