Why Are My Rose Bush Leaves Turning Yellow
Olivia Luz
Heat stress another reason for rose leaves turning yellow is the rose bush is under some sort of stress.
A common cause of stress is heat stress. Often the leaves will then become brown and dry and drop off the plant. Sometimes the leaves lower down of the rose bush are turning yellow whilst the top leaves remain a healthy green colour. Sometimes with other stressors the rose bush will start dropping foliage until the stress is relieved whatever stress that may be.
This is because the top leaves are in the sun and have optimal light exposure whereas the leaves that are near the bottom or on the shaded side of the plant can turn yellow because of the comparative lack of sun. Oxygen deficiency causes this in rose bushes and is often present in plants that have poor drainage and are constantly sitting in soggy soil. It can also be caused by a lack of oxygen when the plants are overwatered or the soil doesn t drain easily. Yellow leaves on rose bushes may also be caused by radiant heat.
The rose bush turns yellow and drops its foliage in an effort to cool down in the case of heat stress. Fungal diseases may cause yellowing rose bush leaves. You may see the leaf veins turn yellow while the leaves are still green. To save a rose bush that has oxygen deficiency you ll most likely have to raise the bed and loosen and aerate any compacted soil.
