When one finds a suitable spot in the fall it produces a pheromone that attracts others so it is common to find dozens if not hundreds at a time. As it turns out the ladybugs are attracted to light colors including the color white.

Once ladybugs have penetrated the home though they are hard to get rid of. Ladybugs can be found in many places and they will even decide to use your home to hibernate if it is cold outside. Ladybugs are in my house. Aphids will also attract ladybugs as a food source.
