By sending more troops in the west for protecting the western land. It imposed a new direct tax on all american colonists requiring them to pay a tax on all printed materials. This included legal documents ship papers licences playing cards magazines newspapers and more. The british parliament decided that colonists will pay the tax for maintaining the british troops.
A the colonies were rebelling. The british government decided that many printed materials should need a government stamp attached to them and that anything with these. B the townshend acts needed to be replaced. November 15 2019 the stamp act was a law passed by the parliament of great britain on march 22 1765.
And more cost added to this debt. The stamp act was simply an unfair money generating policy. C the colonies were smuggling goods.
