Several scientific studies explaining why the towers ultimately collapsed including those exploring the thermodynamics of 9 11 8 have been written. Under these conditions the towers collapsed symmetrically and more or less straight down though there was some tilting of the tops of the towers and a significant amount of fallout to the sides. He refers to them as trusses. As the tower collapsed the trusses just fell apart he observed noting that trusses are difficult to fireproof.
Some people believe that the twin towers were brought down by explosives although others find no evidence for this belief. This occurrence caused significant damage to the buildings external and core columns and increased the strain on those that remained intact. The first was the initial impact of the airplanes. Both studies blame two general events for the collapse of the world trade center towers.
In both cases the section of the building that had been damaged by the airplanes failed which allowed the floors above the impact zone to fall onto the undamaged structure below. The collapse mechanism of the twin towers might look complicated to a layman. Nist lead investigator shyam sunder said. When the structural members gave out all of that weight went straight down because there was no force applied to make it go any other direction. The official version tells that the towers collapsed by the heat of the fire after the impact in combination with a damaged main structure.
