How is this possible. The hybrid grape is licensed to only a few growers worldwide. Cotton candy grapes look like the regular green variety but taste much sweeter. Cotton candy grapes are taking the world by storm because well they actually taste like cotton candy.
I just bought a bag. They are nice a few at a time but they aren t refreshing like a regular green grape. Cotton candy grapes are a product of the time honored practice of plant breeding using different varieties of plants to create a new hybrid. It s the name that primarily causes those that taste the grapes to strongly associate them with the flavor of cotton candy.
Why they taste like cotton candy. The name says it all. Objectively the flavor of these grapes is mildly sweet with notes of vanilla. They look like a regular old green grape which if we re being honest isn t our favorite of the bunch.

When they were first test tested out in the field in 100 degree weather they felt the flavor of the grape was more of a toffee caramel flavor. Green grapes are a sweet fruit but a cunning horticulturalist has bred them to be so sweet they taste just like cotton candy. I bought two bags cost 18 thinking every grape would taste like cotton candy lol. Growing them in other countries where the climate allows an extended season makes them available a little bit longer than six weeks a year.

Cotton candy grapes look like the old translucent yellow green orbs long common to children s. They re sweet and juicy and have a hint of vanilla with all the best tastes of pink spun sugar and none of the sticky mess.
Plant breeders in california have created an all natural grape that tastes like cotton candy.
