Why Do I See Scary Things When I Close My Eyes
Olivia Luz
You close your eyes and right before you fall asleep you notice something.
As you settle into bed at night close your eyes and begin to doze off you may notice the colorful light show happening inside your eyelids. Many people who have seen this visual phenomenon think it is an light induced afterimage of what they had seen before they closed their eyes but an afterimage may only be part of what they are seeing. It could also be his brain just filling in the random junk that most people see when they close their eyes to try and make sense of it the human brain likes patterns. The reason i came to this board is because i feel my problem could be related to my mental issues.
A twinkling swirling pattern of stars and colors producing a make shift light show on the inside of your closed eyelids. Best not to worry about it. You probably just have strong reactions to sensory deprivation. When you rub the sleep from your weary eyes the lights suddenly intensify and bursts of bright colors appear all across your field of vision.
When one of your senses is not getting any input your brain becomes hyperactive and reacts more strongly to the smallest of signals. A few seconds later the colors settle down again. It is probaly at its worst when i m trying to fall asleep because it s dark inside and outside and i don t know night is usually associated with monsters. Btw i m a 15 year old female.
