Muslims are required to pray five times a day known as salat. That means we waste 25 minutes a day. And praying 5 times a day. Prayer is central to islamic belief.
Anyone who does not perform the five times daily prayers would eventually live an essentially pagan life since the compulsory five times daily prayers are the very foundation of the religious way of. Both the quran and the hadith of the prophet strongly emphasizes the vitality of the five daily prayers in islam. It is only one. Islam teaches us that discipline and perseverance are necessary for spiritual advancement whereas a mindset of instant gratification and laziness keep one far removed from high achievements.
Muslims are ordered to pray five times a day at specific times. Just as a person needs to eat several times a day their souls need to pray five times per day according to islamic beliefs. Salah is a way of totally submitting to the wills of allah and showing gratitude to him because as muslims we don t bow before anyone but allah the almighty. Prayers remind the faithful of god and the many opportunities to seek his guidance and forgiveness.

When we offer prayer it will make us more submissive and increase our belief that there is a substance higher than us. Since there is but one god and hence but one truth and only one true religion i e the religion of abraham from whose name the name brahma appears to have originated the implication is that whoever worships the one true god must pray these five times compulsory prayers every day. The first prayer called fajr starts at dawn and ends once the sun rises. They also serve as a reminder of the connection that muslims the world over share through their faith and shared rituals. For muslims the five daily prayer times called salat are among the most important obligations of the islamic faith.
