On most occasions when people yawn they tightly shut their eyes during the process.
When the facial muscles tighten during a yawn the lacrimal glands may get squeezed causing release of small amount of tears. These glands are working to produce and release tears slowly throughout the day to coat the surface of our eyes at all times not just when we cry. Secondly it squashes closed the tear ducts that drain the tear film from the surface of the eye. When we yawn our facial muscles contract which puts pressure on these lacrimal glands.
This may put pressure on our lacrimal glands the glands that are neatly tucked away deep beneath our upper eyelids just below our eyebrow bones these glands produce the watery component to our eyes own natural tears. First it squeezes the lacrimal duct causing more tears to flow into the eye. Firstly it causes pressure to be placed upon the lacrimal duct which in turn causes an increased amount of fluid to be forced into the eyes. Eyes can tear up for a variety of other reasons.
When you let out a big yawn the muscles essentially wring out the glands like a beach towel and voila you look like you re having a moment. Teary eyes with yawn. It continuously supplies tear fluid that s wiped across the surface of our eye each time we blink our eyes. The pressure squeezes the glands causing them to release a small amount of tears that they were storing to release later.

As you yawn you re squeezing the lacrimal ducts in the eyes and that makes the tears back up into the eyes hence the increased fluid in your eyes. When people yawn they tend to tightly shut their eyes and this does two things. When we yawn the facial muscles surrounding our eyes pull tight. Changes in seasons typically can cause changes to the eye due to the amount of humidity in the air and allergens.
