Why Do We Close Our Eyes When We Kiss
Olivia Luz
There is some science behind all this.
Why do we do this. Closing your eyes will not only eliminate distractions but also fully experience the kiss. Ask the blind the deaf or dumb. You concentrate on the sweetness of the lips.
Most people can t focus on anything as close as a face at kissing distance so closing your eyes saves them from looking at a distracting blur or the strain of trying to focus. When you close your eyes when kissing your sense of touch that connects your lips is heightened. Kissing is one of the most basic forms of human affection. Kissing can also make us feel vulnerable or self conscious and closing your eyes is a way of making yourself more relaxed.
So someone obviously figured out a long time ago that kissing with closed eyes gives participants a better chance of moving towards intercourse by keeping them focused and allowing them to build. This means that you want to feel more with touch. It seems strange but it also feels completely natural. Evolution may have played a part in this as less distractions mean better focus during intercourse which may bring higher chances of pregnancy.
