In bergman s article it is pointed out that tears are very effective in removing chemicals such as endorphin and prolactin which are the result of stress.
But that s too simplistic. Crying is a natural emotional response to certain feelings usually sadness and hurt. People feel less angry less sad so crying does appear to alleviate stress. On the other hand if the tears are prevented from flowing the stress level increases.
Let us count the ways. And that might be why lots of people say that they feel better after a good cry. Get your tissues at the ready it s all about tears this week. It also could be a signal to others that you need help.
Another theory is that because emotional tears contain certain hormones it could be a way that the human body releases stress. Tears well up in people s eyes for a slew of reasons. Why do we cry when we re sad. Crying can be scientifically defined as the shedding of your tears in response to an emotional state.

It just doesn t make sense scientifically why would the body want to excrete water from the eyes when we re sad. The why of crying may seem obvious and straightforward.
