We all know that a wedding ring is a symbol of marriage but do you know why or every wondered why a wedding ring is worn on the third finger on the left hand. In many western cultures the ring finger is designated as the fourth finger on the left hand. However certain countries wear them on the third finger right hand so i dont know what the explanation is for that. Wedding rings have been in use since the time of the egyptians though they became widely popular in the ninth century. When you are married legally there should be a ring on the ring finger of your left hand.
