Many people have experienced the pain of taking a big bite of hot pizza that immediately burns the roof of the mouth eventually causing the top layer of skin to peel away.
Oral lesions are non infectious and can be a sign of the illness that involves other parts of the body. Serious mouth burns can lead to the development of blisters and thickening of the skin with a white appearance. One of the most common reasons for the skin in the mouth to shed or peel is because of a burn which can happen if you eat hot food or beverages. The most likely cause is eating foods or drinking beverages that are very hot that cause the thinnest layer of tissue to burn and then flake off.
It never use to do that. I have noticed my skin is getting thinner probably due to the prolonged prednisone usage. They may affect teeth palate roof of the mouth tongue lips and even inside of cheeks. It just feels weird that the roof of my mouth sheds does this happen to anyone else.
Recently i was diagnosed with lichen planus a white patch on one side of my cheek. The syndrome usually starts with flu like symptoms high fever aches and pains and then is followed by a purple or red rash that blisters and spreads along your skin and the mucous membranes of your mouth and even your genitals nose and eyes. It does not hurt. It could be.

One of the most common reasons to get a painful sore on the roof of your mouth is because of eating hot food. The skin on the roof of my mouth peels off. I m a diabetic and used to chew tobacco but quit about 6 months back. Hello i m suffering from skin peeling and roughness inside my mouth lips and cheeks.
Now i m a bit worried about the condition. The skin on the hard palate is much more delicate than your tongue and burns can cause blisters swelling and damage to the roof of the mouth. Furthermore smokers are at increased risk of developing problems with their teeth and oral cancer. That s because chemicals in tobacco smoke can irritate epithelia resulting in changes to the appearance of oral tissues.
So maybe that is why the skin on the roof of my mouth is so senstive. Using substances that are irritating to the flesh can cause the roof of mouth hurts. Spicy foods or foods that are extremely hot or cold can also cause the roof of the mouth to become damaged leading to swelling or pain. Foods that are sharp can scratch the tissue leading to discomfort.
