But it would be cool if it was. If anything your eyes might close naturally if you fell into sp with them open. I had it when waking and my eyes were open. Since the only two things you ll be able to control in a full sleep paralysis are your eyes and your breath you can take advantage of the latter and escape sleep paralysis by altering your breathing pattern.
The times when i have it with my eyes open no i normally can t shut them. I have also had it when my eyes were shut and i remember trying to open them but i couldn t. Just be sure to keep your eyes closed. For example by taking shorter or longer breaths your body will notice the change and respond to it by stopping the paralysis.
Sleep paralysis happens when you wake up during the dream phase of sleep. Yes they are usually closed before the sleep paralysis starts as i am either going into sleep or coming out of it and they do not open during it. If you could consciously close your eyes during sleep paralysis this would imply we had control over our eyelids in rem. I don t think it s possible.

Sleep paralysis can often occur in one of the two transitions when you re falling asleep or waking up the reasons for which are still pretty much unknown. Dreams are very intense during the rem phase of sleep and if the body is not paralyzed you may find yourself sleep walking or acting out your dreams in other ways. It erased any logical beliefs i previously had. I see a lot of you have experienced this as well and found certain ways to snap out of it.
Which means we could also open them during a regular lucid dream. I can see everything i just can t move. It actually creates more fear which leads to stress then this stops our brain from reacting hence keeping the muscles in a frozen state. Sleep paralysis happens when your body enters rem sleep and your brain turns off muscle groups to protect your body from damage during vivid dreams.
