Pregnancy after a hysterectomy is extremely rare but when it does happen it is considered a life threatening medical emergency. If you have a partial hysterectomy and your ovaries are left which they usually are in modern hysterectomies you could possibly get pregnant. Pregnancy after hysterectomy is not possible because a baby grows in the uterus during pregnancy. Hysterectomy is the removal of the uterus and therefore a pregnancy cannot occur once this is done.
