Can You Wash Bathroom Rugs With Towels

Cleaning plastic or rubber backed bathmats.
In any case after the first wash we still recommend that you do not wash your bathroom rugs with your towels. If you have two mats or rugs drop one towel in with them. Instead dip a sponge into a bucket of warm soapy water to spot clean. We do however recommend that you wash the bathroom rug itself the first time in case there s any color bleeding.
If you re using the dryer be certain not to mix your microfiber or chenille bathroom rugs with other fabrics especially towels. Unlike when washing shower curtains you don t want to use anything acidic or harsh when washing bath rugs or mats because it will break down and damage the rubber bottoms of your mats. I usually wash them on cold gentle all by themselves and hang them out to dry. Make a habit of picking these rugs up after bathing and hanging them on the side of the bathtub or over a towel rack so they have a chance to dry out.
For bathroom rugs made with bamboo or other natural fiber rugs you ll want to avoid soaking completely. Most rugs don t come with a specific description of the type of material fabric that has been used in their making. Alternatively you can hang your mats outside to dry. When washing towels and clothing together don t use fabric softener.

This applies to area rugs too. Loads of towels often work best as bathroom rugs will produce some lint and you don t want that on your clothes. Tumble dry on the lowest heat setting. So to be on the safer side you should wash bathroom rugs separately.
If these bathroom rugs pick up lint they won t dry as quickly. Shop area rugs clean bath rugs at home. If you are washing several rugs in a top loading machine with a center agitator be sure to place them opposite each other so that the machine will stay balanced. The hot usually used on towels would mess up your rugs.
Bathroom rugs are often filled with bacteria and backsplash of urine and toilet water. While good for your clothes they can leave a film on kitchen towels which makes them unsanitary for regular use. Bathroom rugs are almost always machine washable especially with towels. This will help balance the load and prevent your rug or mat from getting damaged in the washing machine.
