It will give your doctor a clearer picture of what is happening. It can lead to a stroke and may show no symptoms.

If you can hear heartbeat in your ear often you must be experiencing what is called pulsatile tinnitus or a rhythmic pulsation that is in coordination with your normal heartbeat. When it is related to a problem with the blood flow it is called avascular tinnitus. Most people with pulsatile tinnitus hear the sound in one ear though some hear it in both.
