Olivia Luz
The most common causes in some cases the feeling of something stuck in the throat can be experienced by those who have suffered a stroke or by those with muscle or nerve conditions.
Why it feels like something is stuck in my throat if you have suffered a stroke or have a muscle or nerve condition it can feel like something is stuck in the throat when swallowing. Most commonly though it is due to something within the throat causing a blockage due to a variety of reasons. An abnormal position of the tissues leading to the formation of webs and rings around the esophagus can also make you feel like something has been lodged in your throat. A common reason for frequently experiencing the sensation of something stuck in the throat is gastroesophageal reflux.
And conversely sometimes there is a physical object behind this sensation. This is a condition whereby acid from the stomach leaks back into the esophagus and causes a burning sensation in the chest heartburn and a bitter taste in the mouth. These abnormal tissues are formed while still in the womb or it can also take place shortly following the birth.
