Why Does My Dog Sneeze All The Time

When it comes to sneezing in dogs it doesn t tend mean that your dog has a cold like sneezing usually means in humans.
Your pet s sneezing may be due to allergies if you also notice that they are extra itchy either all over the body or in one specific spot have runny discharge from their eyes or nose or are coughing and wheezing. However if your dog appears distressed is continually sneezing or is sneezing on and off for a period of time which is out of character it may be a sign that something is wrong in which case a vet may need to be sought. Dogs can sneeze due to irritants or foreign bodies inhaled into their noses. They may also sneeze due to inhaled allergens such as grass and pollen.
The irritation causes that soft palate muscle to spasm which then narrows the trachea. While humans sneeze because of allergies colds sinus issues and even an itchy nose from dust or dryness dogs are more likely to react to these ailments through their skin. The dog will then forcefully attempt to inhale through their nose which causes the dog to backward sneeze. Allergies caused by pollens or mold can make a dog sneeze repeatedly.
And i don t remember the answer. Sneezing is a normal action which occurs in response to the presence of foreign particles within the nose and need not be alarming. Allergies in dogs often results in itchy skin eyes paws and ears. The dog will extend their neck as they try to expand their chest to breath but the narrowed trachea does not allow them to inhale a full breath of air. Snot just flies out of his nose. Just like humans dogs can develop allergies over the years.
If you suspect your dog s sneezing fit is the result of allergies talk to your vet. In fact most any infectious disease that affects the upper respiratory system can cause an animal to sneeze. Dogs are also more likely to cough rather than sneeze when they are suffering from respiratory issues. But i remember its something really weird and has nothing to do with allergies.
