Your period stops in the water any way because of the pressure.
I ve always wanted to go swimming on my periods but of course it ruins the fun. Submerged in water like a pool a pad will completely fill with water leaving no room for it to absorb your menstrual fluid. The pad will absorb water and you will end up with a soggy mess between your legs. No you can t wear a pad in the pool.
Use a lubricant if need be use a super tampon for heavier days you can swim just. If you wear a pad in the pool for even 5 minutes be prepared to be the laughing stock of everyone around because you will get busted out i assure you. No one wants to swim in your. Plus it may swell up into a big soppy mess.
Before you swim on your period with a pad keep in mind that using a tampon or a menstrual cup will be more effective since a pad will absorb a lot of pool water. Pads are made out of absorbent material that soaks up liquids within seconds. Now there is some controversy on whether or not you ought to wear a pad. Tampons aren t fun at first but just relax it will go in just fine you ll start getting used to them.

There seems to be some urban legend based fear that a pad in water will swell up turn into a misshapen blob fall out of your suit and fill the pool with menstrual blood. Your pad will not spread blood in the pool as well. However if a pad is your only option go with a thin pad and be sure to stick it to your swimsuit bottoms when they re still dry. Yes the pad might fall out and you ll turn the water all red.
It will do nothing to stop your period flowing into the pool. It is never going to swell up any more than a typical cotton blouse when it is submerged in water. I m sorry to ruin your fun but no you can t wear a pad in the pool. It soaks up all the water and looks funny.
