Why Do We See The Same Side Of The Moon Every Day Night Even Though The Moon Revolves Around Us
Olivia Luz
The moon has seas.
Yes the moon rotates on its axis. How d this come to be. The reason we always see the same side of the moon is because it rotates at the same rate that it revolves around the earth. There is no atmosphere on the moon.
Images have been captured from space that shows the opposite side to look very similar to what we can see. In other words the moon rotates exactly once every time it circles the earth. Now let us imagine a child going around its mother always holding her for support. The moon s gravity slightly warps our planet s shape and gives us tides.
The moon itself. And because of them the moon is only directly in line with the sun once every lunar month that s how we get the full moon. This is why the craters are still there and there is no rain and wind or weather activity to erode the surface as we see on earth. The whole earth sees the same moon phase on the same day but the northern and southern hemispheres see the moon oriented differently with respect to the horizon.

This means that the moon rises exactly as the sun sets and vice versa. We only see one side of the moon because the moon rotates around the earth at the exact same speed as it rotates around its own axis so that the same side of the moon is constantly facing the surface of the earth. Likewise earth tugs at the moon creating a rocky high tide bulge facing us. Why do you always see the same side near side of the moon.
The reason we always see the same side of the moon is because it both rotates and revolves at the same rate. The moon s rate of rotation nearly matches its orbital period which keep the same side facing earth. Think of a big circle around the earth. This means that the same side of the moon is facing the earth at all times.
