Camila Farah
Maryland founded by lord baltimore otherwise known as george calvert was established because calvert was rejected due to religious reasons when he attempted to settle in virginia.
George calvert founded maryland because he had a vested interest in the colonies. George calvert established the colony of maryland for economic gain and to create a place of refuge for catholics who were being persecuted. This was partly for commercial reasons but also because he wanted to find a refuge for catholics. He had previously sustained an english settlement off.
