Why Does My Armpit Burn When I Put On Deodorant

Contact dermatitis occurs when you come into contact with an allergen or irritant.
A new laundry detergent. Itching can also mean. Please answer mine. I don t shave my armpits or anything and ive been using the same deodorant for about a year now so i don t think its the deodorant.
Looking at the styling grooming message boards this week one question in particular caught my eye. Deodorant allergy is a reaction to antiperspirant or deodorant. Most common agents are either fragrances or preservatives in topical products. When i put my deodorant on it burns really bad and the area is really red.
Rashes under the armpit are often caused by underarm deodorant that contains irritating materials. Switch to a different deodorant brand. You either have an irritant or allergic contact dermatitis a reaction to something your skin is coming in contact with. One of the leading causes of armpit pain associated with deodorant products occurs when the product is used shortly after shaving.

Start with fragrance free or unscented antiperspirants. It most likely burns because you either just shaved or you have a cut or open pore so the spray goes inside it therefore giving a burning sensation. And its been like this for a week now and its not getting any better. Likely culprits include razor rash from a close shave or allergic reaction to a new deodorant or shaving cream.
A deodorant is likely to be the cause of your rash if you just started using a new brand though even a deodorant that you ve used for a long while might be at fault if the manufacturer changed the ingredients.
