Why Do We Stand For The National Anthem
Camila Farah
The hymn reminds us that we have inherited the land and hence we have responsibility over it.
By choosing to not stand up for the national anthem you are protesting the nation as a whole. A nation is instilled in the form of its constitution and the symbolism of the nation comes to us in the form of a flag and of an anthem. We sing the anthem because we firmly believe that we belong to a majestic nation that gives us an identity. We stand for soldiers who initially inspired our national anthem such as william williams a runaway slave who later died after having his leg blown off as part of the 38th u s.
A part of that ideology includes the right for kaepernick to kneel while everyone else stands during. They re the very dna of our country and they remind us of everything and everyone that came before us to protect it. It s so important to stand for the flag because people have paid the ultimate sacrifice defending it. The national anthem is not meant to divide americans on if we should stand or not it s meant.
That is why we stand for the national anthem. Just because kaepernick as well as others are unhappy with the country s status doesn t discredit all the good that the country has done and is still doing right now. That s why you stand for the star spangled banner the fight to win and practice that ideology. Why do we stand for the national anthem.

With increasing reports of people being arrested fornot standing for the national anthem it s a good idea to remember why they stopped the practice of playing the thing in cinema halls in the first place nationalism cannot be coercively produced in people s breasts through such inane superficial and empty gestures.Source : pinterest.com
